Laravel gives you a lot of structure out of the box, but knowing when to reach for a form request, a policy, or a dedicated action class is what separates a maintainable codebase from a tangled one. In this post we walk through five patterns we use daily on client projects: form requests for validation, policies for authorization, service/action classes for business logic, API resources for consistent JSON responses, and queued jobs for anything that shouldn't block a request.
